- Barbershop Ballads and Ballots Show A Success!

What an incredible day! BASC had an amazing time hosting our show, Barbershop Ballads and Ballots, on Saturday. The full house had incredible energy, which had the chorus buzzing! A big thank you to our headliners, The Newfangled Four, who had the audience (and the chorus backstage!) in stitches! AllSorts and Verve quartets gave stellar performances of their own.
The show would not have been possible without our many chorus members and friends who stepped up to make this dream a reality - thank you to the many hands who made light work!

About 22 chorus members performed at the annual tree lighting event at Mountain View's civic plaza. It was FABULOUS to once again perform live before a real audience! The performance was well-received and many in the masked, distanced crowd enjoyed singing along to It Came Upon a Midnight Clear & Silent Night medley.

Our free holiday show was our the first "friends and family" performance in two years! We performed for an in-person audience of about 50 people (all of whom were vaccinated, masked and distanced) and more than 100 people who watched on Zoom. The show featured Songstruck quartet, a mix of both non-holiday and Christmas songs, a drawing for poinsettia plants, and a ribbon-tied goodie bag (containing a big cookie, cocoa mix, marshmallows, and a candy cane) to enjoy at home. Our last coaching event was the end of February (a leap year, hence the frog) in 2020, just before COVID shut everything down. We had a wonderful time learning from one of our favorite coaches, Ryan Heller. We look forward to seeing him again when it's safe to do so.
